The Australian Dairy Farmers Corporation (ADFC) is paying farmers an additional 5c per kgMS to all milk supplied across the full season. In a letter to suppliers dated 13 May 2026, ADFC General Manager Andrew Sutton acknowledged unprecedented lifts in input costs which affects dairy operations.
United Dairy Farmers of Victoria (UDV) President Bernie Free said the support payments help farmers. He said processors limiting temporary payments to just May and June milk supplies need to acknowledge seasonality of supply and that farmers are still incurring high costs setting up operations for the coming year.
Australian Dairy Farmers called for a 30c hike to dairy products in the supermarket, including cheese to support a lift to farmgate milk prices.
