Australian exports were up +11% in MSE that terms for the first 10 months of the 2023/24 season, led by increases in cheese, milk powders, butter and dry whey.
Cheese exports rose 50.4% YOY in April – this mostly reflected stronger sales in Japan, China & HK and SE Asia. April SMP exports were 13,396t – up 88.3% YOY while WMP rose +38.4% YOY on relatively small volumes. Fat exports rose 35.7% YOY in commercial butter equivalent terms in April – AMF was up +36.1% YOY and butter rose +141.1%.
