Australian exports were up 0.2% in the first six months of the 2023/24 season in milk solids equivalent (MSE) , led by increases in cheese, milk powders, butter and dry whey.
Cheese exports rose 10.6% YOY in December– this mostly reflected stronger sales in China & HK and SE Asia. December SMP exports were 13,631t – down 6.4% YOY while WMP rose 83.9% YOY although volumes remain negligible. Fat exports rose 50.8% YOY in commercia butter equivalent terms in December – AMF was down 45% YOY but butter rose 129.8% YOY.
