Australian June Milk Down 5.2%

June milk production declined 5.2% YOY, taking 2024/25 season intake –0.7% below the prior season. .

Output in Victoria fell 6.4% YOY for the month as drought conditions in the south west reduced June output by 12.2% YOY. Gippsland intake was –5.6% YOY for the month while output in the north was flat. A more positive story unfolded in NSW, where production rose 0.8% YOY in June, with season finishing +3.0% YOY ahead of prior year. NSW growth in 2024/25 was driven by improved intake in the south, which finished the season 8.1% ahead of the prior year comparative, while flood impacted north coast intake was –3.2% and the central region was –1% for the season. Dry conditions impacted June intake fro Tasmania and SA, down  8.4% and 7.6% YOY respectively.
