Australian milk was down 4% YOY for the first month of the 2025/26 season. Victoria was down 5.1% YOY in July with the west of the state down 7.8%. Gippsland intake fell 3.2% YOY for the month while in the north collections were 3.3% down compared to July 2024.

NSW intake was up 2.5% in July, with southern region production up 7.1% higher YOY. Central region production was up 1.1% while the north coast was –6.1% for the month. Tasmanian milk production continues to struggle, down 6.1%  for the month compared to a low prior year comparative. July 2024 which was –12% YOY. SA also reflected drought condition in July, down 9.6% YOY.
