Australian milk production fell 1.8% YOY in March with mixed output across states according to Dairy Australia, bringing the season to date 0.7% ahead of the season prior.
In Victoria, output fell 3.5% YOY for the month, with big falls in western Victoria (-8.2% YOY) and in northern Victoria (-5.8% YOY). Output rose 1.7% YOY in Gippsland. Season to date milk production in Victoria is tracking 0.4% ahead of the season prior. Output in NSW lifted 2.8% YOY in March, taking the season 2.0% ahead of the previous season to date. Tasmania’s production fell 2.6% YOY in March, with season to date still 1.7% ahead of the prior year comparable. South Australia’s output lifted 6.7% YOY in March, with seasonal output tracking 2.5% ahead of the season prior.
