Australian milk production continues to decline with milk production down 0.8% YOY in November, according to Dairy Australia. This takes season to date output 2.4% behind the prior year comparable, with the sixth consecutive monthly decline.
In Victoria, milk output was down 1.1% YOY in November, and down 3.0% for the season. Gippsland reported a 2.3% YOY fall for the month and is 3.6% behind for the season to date. Production in Western Victoria fell 2.7% YOY for the month and is 4.3% behind for the season. In contrast, output in northern Victoria rose 2.6% YOY in November and was down 0.7% for the season to date. Production in Tasmania was down 5.1% YOY in November and 6.6% behind the prior season comparable. NSW output rose 4.9% YOY in November, taking season output 3.3% ahead of the prior season. Production in SA lifted 3.3% YOY for the month, with season to date production only lagging 0.3% behind the season prior.
