Australian milk production fell in the first month of the 2021/22 season, down 3.5% YOY with falls recorded in milk output across most states except NSW.
July milk output dropped 4.5% YOY in Victoria, dragged down by a 6.9% YOY intake fall in Gippsland, while intake in northern Victoria fell 3.6% YOY and was 3.4% lower YOY in western Victoria. NSW was the only state to record a lift in production in July, up 1.8% YOY while Tasmania’s July output fell 6.5% YOY. Output in SA was down 3.5% YOY in July, while Qld recorded a 2.8% YOY drop in production for the month.
