With one month to go, in terms of output data, Australia’s production has inched ahead of the past season’s output by 0.2%. May output finished +5.4% year-over-year.

Victoria’s production rose +6.7% YOY for the month with increases in monthly output across all regions. Gippsland production was up +6.8% YOY in May, +12.7% YOY in western Vic and +1.2% YOY in northern Victoria. Season-to-date, Victoria’s production is trailing –0.2% behind the prior season, closing the gap to year-ago comparables as the season reaches the finish line. May production rose in NSW (+4.6% YOY) and Tasmania (+5.5% YOY), with seasonal output tracking ahead of the prior year in both states. Dry and drought conditions are still impacting production in South Australia, with May output down 3.9% and season-to-date production –5.9% behind the prior-year comparable.
