Beston Global Food Company’s has completed its upgrade of its Jervois dairy plant in South Australia and is expected to significantly increase the company’s ability to produce lactoferrin.
Beston’s chief operating officer Hamish Browning said the upgraded facility would be able to produce six times as much lactoferrin, taking annual production to 20t from 3t. Browning said the commodity is highly sought after due to its antiviral and antibacterial properties. Since 2016, Beston has lifted production from 17m litres to 155m litres annually.
