Australian Cheese Production Down 4% in 2024/25

Cheese production declined 4% in the 2024/25 after peaking at just below 450,000t in the prior yea. That’s according to heavily revised Dairy Australia data (which was released for last season. This compares to a 0.7% decrease in national milk production.

Meanwhile, SMP production continued to increase – up 4.1% in 2024/25 to be above 170,000t, along with a 9.8% increase in butter manufacturing. WMP (including infant formula) output rose 30.7% for the full season but volumes.
