The long-foreshadowed merger of NSW and Queensland dairy advocacy groups into eastAUSmilk is complete. Members of Queensland Dairyfarmers’ Organisation (QDO) voted in favour of constitutional change, which will facilitate the merger with NSW-based Dairy Connect Farmers Group. Under a newly revised constitution, two district councils within NSW will appoint two representatives to the interim board of eastAUSmilk. Dairy Connect Farmers’ Group President Graham Forbes called the merger “a historic result which is a positive and collaborative step towards uniting dairy farmers in NSW and Queensland.”
