The effect of strong prior year comparables pushed cheese commercial disappearance down 0.4% YOY in November 2022 – that followed a 2.5% YOY increase during October. The overall increase compares to a 2.7% YOY rise in commercial disappearance of American cheese varieties, and a 2.4% YOY fall in demand for other cheese varieties (including mozzarella).
Domestic use of butter has weakened significantly since late Q2-2022 and declined sharply in November – down 11.3% YOY and fell 6.6% for the year to date. NFDM demand again declined in November, down 33.1% YOY, and year to date domestic demand was 21.1% lower.
