USDA ERS data shows domestic commercial disappearance of cheese declined 1.5% YOY in June, extending a soft patch after May’s modest gain. The decline was broad-based as American cheese fell 1.3% YOY. Other-Than-American cheese varieties (including mozzarella) declined 1.5% YOY.

Domestic commercial disappearance of butter increased 8.4% YOY in June, building on gains earlier in Q2-26. NDM and SMP demand also strengthened, up 11.1% YOY for the month. WPC demand jumped 23.8% YOY, while dry whey demand fell sharply, down 47.3% YOY. Lactose demand rose 64.7% YOY on a low prior-year comparable.
