EU-27 milk production increased +0.7% YOY in May, the fourth consecutive monthly expansion according to Eurostat and AGEA data. Poland again accounted for most of that growth, up +4.5% YOY. Germany was flat and French supplies increased +0.3% YOY. There was also solid growth in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Spain. Output in Ireland and the Netherlands continued to decline, down -2.3% and -1.5%, respectively. Production of EU-27 milk solids in May was up just +0.1% YOY, reflecting a marginal increase in protein while fat was flat.
German milk supplies declined -1% in week 27 (ending 6 July 2024) – that followed 16 consecutive weekly increases. France milk output growth also slowed to +1.3% YOY in week 27 – this was the ninth consecutive weekly increase. UK production was flat YOY in the same week.
