EU-27 supplies rose 2% YOY in May, based on 13 reporting countries accounting for 28% of average output (still excluding key countries like Germany and France). Ireland accounted for 90% of reported growth in May, having increased 6.1% YOY. Among other notable producing countries, Dutch supplies were flat (following five consecutive monthly declines) while output in Belgium rose by 1.1% YOY.
According to the most recent data, French milk production fell 2.1% YOY in week 25 (ending 27 June 2021), the largest YOY contraction since late March. German supply fell 0.5% YOY in week 24 – on average, supply has been near flat since the start of April. AHDB reports UK production rose 1.1% YOY in the first 26 days of June after increasing 1.4% YOY in May.
