There were mixed YOY trends among major producing countries in April, but with an aggregate 1.5% YOY expansion for the month. This is based on data for roughly a third of average EU-27 milk production reported to Eurostat. Milk growth in Ireland and Poland for April was reported at 6.1% YOY and 1.9% YOY respectively. Netherlands and Belgium had contractions of 0.8% YOY and 1.6% YOY respectively. Key countries such as Germany and France have still not published April data on Eurostat.

According to the most recent data, French milk production rose 2% YOY in week 20 (ending 23 May 2021). That was the fourth consecutive YOY expansion. German supply also lifted, up 0.5% YOY in week 19. AHDB reports UK production rose 1.4% YOY in the first 15 days of May after increasing 2.2% YOY in April.
