Sixteen EU-27 member countries have so far published January 2021 milk production data on Eurostat, jointly accounting for 42% of average milk production. Cumulative output was down 0.7% YOY, but key producers such as Germany and France have still not published data. January production in Ireland and Poland again increased, albeit at a smaller pace relative to prior months – up 0.8% YOY and 0.5% YOY respectively. Among other major suppliers, supply in the Netherlands fell 1.4% YOY, the second consecutive monthly contraction.
According to the most recent data, French milk production fell 3.3% YOY in week 7 (ending 21 February 2021). That was the 20th consecutive weekly contraction. German supply fell 2.6% YOY in week 7. According to daily AHDB data, UK’s production rose 1.3% YOY in the first 27 days of February after increasing 0.8% YOY in January.
