EU-27 milk supplies remain tight in March according to Eurostat data. Irish production fell 3.3% YOY to 826m kgs, but on a particularly large prior-year comparable. That decline followed YOY increases in both January and February. The Netherlands is the only other major producing country having reported March 2022 milk production data on Eurostat – supplies were down 2.5% YOY – the 16th consecutive contraction.
According to the most recent data, French milk production fell 2% YOY in week 15 this year (ending 17 April 2022), the third consecutive weekly contraction. German supply fell 2.5% YOY in week 15, the 47th consecutive weekly decline. AHDB reports UK production declined 2.3% YOY in the first 23 days of April after falling 2.5% YOY in March.
