Dairy commodity output surged in September, with increases across all major products except for WMP, which is in line with weak confectionery demand. September cheese output increased 5.5% YOY. Most of the expansion was in France, Germany, Poland and the Netherlands. SMP output rose 22.4% YOY in September, the sixth consecutive monthly increase, with Germany, Belgium and France accounting for most of the growth.

September butter production was 13.8% higher YOY, alongside a 5.8% YOY increase in the production of cream for direct consumption. Germany, France and Poland contributed most to the butter increase. Year-to-date, butter production lifted 75,000t relative to the same period in 2024.
