In its latest Global Dairy Update, Fonterra’s milk collections rose in February, reaching 143.2m kgMS, up 7.1% on the same month last season. The increase is driven by favourable weather and solid pasture conditions across both islands. Season‑to‑date collections now total 1,218.3m kgMS, 3.1% higher than last year.
North Island collections increased 9.2% in February to 75.5m kgMS, supported by improved soil moisture and pasture growth following last year’s drought. That brings season‑to‑date volumes to 705.8m kgMS, up 1.8%. South Island collections rose 4.9% in February to 67.7m kgMS, with consistent weather and soil conditions underpinning pasture growth. Season‑to‑date output is 512.6m kgMS, also 4.9% above last season.
