Fonterra Australia September milk collections rose 1.3% YOY to 10.9mkg of milksolids, taking the season to date output to 23.2mkg of milksolids, a 0.3% increase on the season prior comparable.

Fonterra attributes the increased output to favourable weather conditions due to a La Niña system that is delivering wetter and cooler conditions, which is improving soil moisture and water storages. However, there was a note of caution as pasture production, silage and fodder harvest were starting to be negatively impacted.
