June milk intake fell 2.1% YOY, to 14.5m kg of milksolids. North Island milk collections were 6.7% higher for the month, due to favourable pasture conditions. South Island intake of 2.6m kg of milksolids was 29.2% down YOY with dry, cold conditions and low sunlight hours affecting pasture growth.
June is the lowest production month for New Zealand and represents less than 1% of the full season forecast, and typically counts for less than 0.5% of South Island annual collections.
