The GDT Index delivered a small gain at event #369, +1.2% as the weight of WMP trades offset red ink across other major products and most contracts.
WMP continued to push higher, averaging US$3,984/t up 4.1% on the prior GDT, with most contracts higher. SMP drifted a little weaker in line with the tone in the past couple of weeks in SGX and EEX futures. Average prices slid 1.2% to US$2,848/t with prices dragged down across all periods.
Butter prices fell 4.7% on average to US$6,680/t with big declines for contracts with near-term delivery and milder losses for later contracts. AMF posted small losses on slightly weaker demand than average, down 0.5% to US$7,583/t.
Cheddar lost 3.2% to average US$4,689/t on and Mozzarella fell 4.5% to near US$4,100/t, well below recent European trades and spot quotes. Lactose came back to the trade, lifting past US$910/t, 7.7% up on the prior appearance in event #367.
