The GDT price index rose 3.7% event #373 which its highest reading since July 2022.

WMP price was up 4.5% overall to US$4,169/t with demand well above average, and bigger gains for earlier contracts. SMP recorded the highest average price lift since September 2023, up 3.9% US$2,835/t.

Average butter prices rose 3.4% to US$7,222/t. NZ butter demand remained strong, as prices firmed across contracts while EU product price fell. AMF steadied despite weaker starting demand, adding 2.3% on average to US$6,766/t. The improvement only reclaimed a little of recent losses, and the discount to butter widened. Cheddar lifted 3.7% on average to US$5,025/t in line with firmer EU prices for curd. Mozzarella was slightly weaker on average but stayed above US$4,000/t. Lactose surged 17.5% to go back above $1,000/t for the first time since March 2023.
