Australian milk production rose 3.5% YOY in August to 717m litres, bringing total output 3.2% ahead for the season to date. Production lifted in most states with output in Victoria up 4% YOY for the month, and 3.9% ahead of the last season. All Victorian regions were up YOY In August, with the west ahead 6.8% YOY, Gippsland up 3.2% and the north up 1% YOY.
Output in NSW increased 2.1% YOY in August, putting the state 2% ahead for the season. Queensland production continues to fall, down 6.6% in August, while WA output fell slightly. Tasmania’s output jumped 9.8% in August, while milk intake in South Australia rose 6.3% YOY.
