Milk supply weaker in December

by | Feb 9, 2022 | Global, Volume trends

Eurostat has so far published December production data for 16 member states but is missing too many large regions to provide a meaningful estimate. Among those that have reported to date however, Netherlands was down 2.4%, continuing a weak run. Poland’s output meanwhile was 1.5% higher. According to the most recent weekly data, the decline in French milk production was easing in the third week of January, improving to just 1% below the same week in 2021. Meanwhile German supply was 1.9% weaker in the same week.

AHDB reported UK production was 2.5% lower in the week ending 29 January 2022, which was a little better than the previous week, when the deficit had widened to 3.1%.
