The opening Milk Supply Agreements have been updated on the Australian Dairy Product Federation’s (ADPF) Milk Value Portal. The Farmgate Milk Value Tool allows comparisons for example farms in all dairying regions, with around 90% of anticipated milk collections accounted for.
Based on an 2-2.5 m litre farm, the opening milk prices are 12% to 13% lower in southern regions while northern regions are 1% down on the 2023/24 season.
The ADPF launched the Milk Value Portal in 2020 to enable users to understand the average and spread of milk value in each region. The tool allows the impact of farm characteristics like seasonality of milk supply, size of farm and fat and protein percentage to be easily quantified.
