Milk production was marginally lower in November, down 0.2% YOY bringing season-to-date output 1.3% ahead of the prior year comparable.
In Victoria, output edged up 0.2% YOY in November, with growth in Gippsland (+3.2% YOY) and Northern Vic (+2.5%) offset by a 5% YOY fall in western region production. At the end of November Victoria’s milk production was tracking 1.9% ahead of the prior year for the season-to-date. Milk production also rose 1.5% YOY in NSW for the month with season-to-date production +4.7% YOY.
Tasmania’s milk output was down 3.6% YOY in November, with season output tracking 4.3% lower YOY due to drier than average conditions. In South Australia, season to date production is 2.0% ahead of last year, with milk output rising +2.7% YOY in November.
