New Zealand milk production grew slightly in milksolids terms after 10 months of YOY declines. While the seasonally lowest milk production month June production of 20.9 mkg of milksolids was up 1.1% YOY. Milk production in volume terms (litres) was flat in June according to DCANZ.
New Zealand has been hit by stormy wet weather, with most of the country experiencing back-to-back months of above average rainfall in June and July. The continued influence of La Niña on NZ weather will keep temperatures on the warmer side for the remainder of 2022, while the western parts of both islands may turn drier during spring.
