NZ milk collections up 11% in April

by | May 26, 2021 | Global, Volume trends

April milk production jumped 11.6% YOY on a milk solids basis and 11.7% YOY on a milk tonnage basis according to the latest data from DCANZ. April output is 8.4% ahead of the 5-year monthly average and season to date production was 2.4% ahead of the season prior. The hike in April milk production is largely due to favourable more seasonal conditions in most regions and lower comparables year on year as the North Island was affected by drought in 2020 with herds in affected areas dried-off by the start of April 2020.
