Pulse Prices Tumble

This week’s Pulse continued the trend set by GDT #381 WMP and SMP with medium heat SMP and regular WMP prices down.

Regular WMP lost US$150/t or 3.7% from last week’s GDT #381, settling at US$4,030/t. The settled price was 3.6% lower than the price achieved at the prior Pulse event in late May.  NZ medium heat SMP fell 4.4% or US$100/t from GDT #381 to US$2,725/t, with the settled price 3.5% below prices achieved at the previous Pulse event. Prices for both commodities have consistently fallen on both GDT and GDT Pulse events since GDT #380. EU SMP achieved $2,600/t at this week’s Pulse, down 3.2% compared to the C2 price achieved at #381 and –2.4% on the prior Pulse.

The Pulse event spanned 29 minutes with 30 winning bidders purchasing 2,094t of the 2,150t on offer.
