Rainfall Lifts Water Availability

by | Sep 4, 2025 | Australia, Weather

Recent rainfall across northern Victoria has lifted water available to irrigators in the region.

Resource manager for northern Victoria Dr Mark Bailey updated to 2025/26 seasonal determinations in the Murray system from 53% to 60% high-reliability water shares (HRWS) and the Goulburn and Loddon systems to 44% from 39%. In the Broken systems, HRWS rose to 12% from 0% and no changes reported in the Campaspe and Bullarook systems at 100% HRWS and 0% HRWS, respectively.

Bailey said the rainfall across catchment areas increased inflows with the first allocation for the season in the Broken system.
