The Australian Department of Agriculture has announced the removal of periodic in-country audits on Australian dairy exports to Chile, in recognition of Australia’s high-quality dairy regulations. The approval and listing of Australian dairy manufacturing establishments wanting to export to Chile has become the responsibility of the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. The elimination of the audit requirement has removed high costs meaning prospective exporters better to take advantage of a rapidly growing Chilean dairy market.
