Saputo Dairy Australia has announced a step-up of 20c to $7.25kgMS, lifting the butter fat price by 14c/kg and protein by 28c/kg. The step-up is retrospective and applies to all milk supplied since 1 July. Saputo’s supplier relations director Anthony Cook said strong international demand and global dairy market prices are being realised in Saputo’s business, prompting the company to lift farmgate prices. In the domestic market retail demand remain steady while foodservice demand continues to improve.
