Seasonal Water In The Murray Flows In

by | Nov 21, 2024 | Australia, News

The resource manager for northern Victoria reports greater inflows than forecast in updating 2024/25 seasonal determinations.

In the Murray system, high-reliability water shares increased to 100%, up from 98% and the Broken system’s HRWS rose to 47%, up from 45%. In the Campaspe system, low-reliability water shares (LRWS) rose from 38% to 41%. In the Goulburn, Loddon and Bullarook systems, seasonal determinations are unchanged.

Resource manager Mark Bailey said small resource improvements across catchments improved seasonal determinations. Lower than forecast evaporation, helped increase the amount available for allocation. Bailey noted that water in the Bullarook system is insufficient to make a seasonal determination.
