Milk output fell 0.4% YOY in September bring season-to-date production -2.3% behind the prior year comparative.
Victoria reported a —1.4% YOY fall in production with declines across the state. In Gippsland output fell 0.7% YOY for September, and in western Victoria production slid 0.2% YOY while north Victorian intake fell 3.8% YOY. Across the state, milk output is down 3.2% for firs three months of the season.
In NSW, September output rose 1.0% YOY, taking season-to-date production 1.1% ahead of the prior year. Tasmanian production jumped 7.6% YOY for the month against a very low prior year comparative. Season-to-date intake is tracking 4.1% ahead of the 2024/25 comparative, which was the worst start to the season since 2010/11.
