US milk production rose in September, up 2.3% YOY according to the USDA. Average per cow yield was up 2% YOY in September, while cow numbers increased YOY for the ninth consecutive month – up 0.4% YOY. Nationally, cow numbers were reported at 9,366m head, up 5,000 head the prior month. The September expansion in milk supply was a six-month high.
