Vic Rain Outlook Neutral, June Drier

by | Jun 5, 2025 | Australia, Weather

The is a neutral outlook for June to August rainfall according to Agriculture Victoria, with warmer temperatures in the next three months.

Several climate indicators are neutral, including ocean surface and subsurface temperatures which are warmer as a result of four La Ninas in the past five years. However, warmer oceans are countered by pressure patterns driven by lower pressure. Soil moisture is “dramatically drier than normal” with many areas predicted to be in the lowest 1% of winter records. The exception is far east Gippsland where soils are wetter than usual.
