The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) outlook for June to August is for a wetter than average winter is expected for most of Australia and warmer than average temperatures are expected across the north and south. Above average rainfall is forecast for most of Australia, except for western Tasmania and southwest WA and days are likely to be warmer than average across northern and southern parts of Australia and cooler in the east and central Australia.

Wetter than average conditions were recorded in April for eastern Australia but drier in Tasmania. Soil moisture is above average in the southwest and on the southeast of mainland Australia but is below average in western parts of Tasmania and southwestern Victoria.
