Warmer than average temperatures are expected across most of the country from September to November. Average rainfall is expected for the period in the east, according to the  Bureau of Meteorology (BoM). 

 Low streamflows are forecast from August to October. Most areas had close to average rainfall in July with parts of eastern Australia drier than usual. Soil moisture was below average in parts of the south, particularly in western Victoria and southeast South Australia.

Ocean temperatures are will continue warmer than average according to BoM. Both the Indian Ocean Dipole and the El Niño-Southern Oscillation are neutral with the chance of a La Niña developing reduced compared to earlier forecasts.
