The latest Bureau of Meteorology long-range forecast is for above average rainfall across northern Australia from November to January, while the forecast in other regions is for an equal chance of either above or below rainfall. Temperatures are expected to be warmer across the country.
In September, temperatures were above average for most of Australia except for south-eastern and western Australia where temperatures were near average. Rainfall across key dairy regions in Victoria, South Australia and the Central Coast were below average while above average rain fell in western Tasmania, easing rainfall deficiencies. Soils are drier than average across much of Victoria, NSW and southern Queensland.
