The most recent update of 2024/25 seasonal determinations from the resource manager for northern Victoria shows recent rains have replenished most catchments.
In the Murray system, high-reliability water shares (HRWS) lifted from 68% to 73%. Meanwhile, the Goulburn and Loddon systems HRWS rose to 89% from 73%. In the Campaspe system HRWS remains at 100% while low-reliability water shares rose to 13%. The Broken system HRWS rose from 8% to 17%.
Resource manager Dr Mark Bailey said the rainfall in the last fortnight generated flows into storages above previous conservative estimates. With more water flowing into catchments, there is more water available for allocation.
