Recent rainfall has boosted flows into the Murray storages, lifting the systems high-reliability water shares (HRWS) to 100%, up from 97%. Seasonal determinations in the Goulburn, Campaspe and Loddon systems remain at 100% HRWS. The Broken and Bullarook systems are unchanged at 100% HRWS and 100% low-reliability water shares (LRWS). Northern Victoria resource manager Mark Bailey said the rainfall through January and February reduced losses and filled water storages to levels not seen since 2017/18. Bailey said entitlement holders will receive monthly updates. However, the likelihood of any of the Murray, Goulburn, Campaspe or Loddon systems receiving an allocation against LRWS this season remains low as this would require sustained rainfall.
Meanwhile, water prices are the lowest in three years with prices sitting on $50 -$100/ML due to good seasonal determinations, mild conditions and ongoing rainfall.
