Current season farmgate prices

The chart on the right shows the estimated average farmgate milk prices that would be paid in the current (2022/23) production season in Southern Australian  regions.

These are the average prices announced by the dairy companies themselves combining opening prices that took effect in July 2022, adjusted for any step-ups or revisions since that time.

It should be noted that companies in this chart have different exposures to the dairy markets in their product mix and market channels, including export markets, which also affects the seasonality of the milk collections they seek.

Prices paid to individual producers supplying dairy companies and other buyers will vary according to the specific farm situations applied to the payment rates and other terms and conditions of supply in Milk Supply Agreements.

These are accordingly not like-for-like comparisons of available prices for producers.
