Final seasonal water allocation announced

Northern Victoria resource manager Mark Bailey has announced final 2020/21 seasonal determinations in the Murray, Goulburn, Campaspe and Loddon systems, which are unchanged at 100% of high-reliability water shares (HRWS). The Broken and Bullarook systems remain at 100% HRWS and 100% low-reliability water shares (LRWS). Bailey said recent rains provided small improvements to reserves for next season as storage evaporation and river losses are reduced and noted a small increase in flows into major storages.

The Bureau of Meteorology’s season rainfall outlook favours slightly above average rainfall across northern Victoria for the three-month period from April to June as the El Niño-Southern Oscillation indicators have returned to neutral levels. The outlook for 2021/22 seasonal determinations will be updated on 17 May.
