Australian milk production rise in October

National milk production rose 2.0% YOY in October on according to Dairy Australia. Most states recorded increase in milk production in October on a flood affected prior year comparative.

In Victoria, production rose 1.2% YOY for the October, with year-to-date production now tracking 0.3% behind the prior year. Output in Northern Victoria rose 2.4% YOY, while production in Gippsland edged 0.7% higher YOY for the month. In Western Vic output rose 0.9% YOY. In Tasmania, output was 4.8% higher for the month, with the season tracking 4.2% ahead of the prior year. NSW production rose 3.7% YOY in October, taking  production 4.0% ahead for the season so far. Year to date output is tracking 0.2% behind the comparable in South Australia, where October production fell 0.8% YOY.
