Dry Australian weather outlook

by | Mar 28, 2024 | Australia, Weather

The Bureau of Meteorology’s (BoM) latest long-range forecast for April to June is for below average rainfall in large parts of the south and east of Australia with warmer than usual days and nights across most of the country.

High streamflows are forecast for most sites from March to May and there is an increased chance of unusually warm days in the east of Australia with warmer nights across the mainland’s east and eastern Tasmania.  Sea surface temperatures are much warmer than average of the east coast of Australia and are expected to remain above average from April to June. El Niño continues to recede with the Pacific expected to return to neutral conditions during autumn.
