The annual flurry of 2022-23 opening milk price announcements is underway and will peak today before 2pm upon the regulated deadline for disclosure of their code-compliant milk supply agreements (MSAs) under the Dairy Code of Conduct.

Given the intense competition for milk in a dwindling milk pool, the announced opening minimum milk prices and price ranges that have been provided over the past week or more will ensure there is at least one round of upward revisions.

By close of business yesterday less than half expected buyers had uploaded their MSAs on company websites. As always, only the details of the full MSAs will tell the true picture of the offers and even amongst the opening announcements there is not a like-for like comparison, as shown.
