Below median rainfall is expected for some regions in the south, with equal chance of above and below median rainfall for most of the country from May to July The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) latest long-range forecast is for warmer than median temperatures for almost all of the country for that period.

El Niño is near its end with the El Niño Southern Oscillation Index forecast to return to neutral temperatures  Warmer ocean temperatures continue in the Tasman and Coral Seas, and are forecast to remain higher than average from May to July.
